India-Pakistan: November 6, 2001

Archives

The US has given Pakistan $73 million dollars worth of  aircraft,  vehicles, radios, night-vision goggles and training for troops guarding the Afghan border. This will make it more difficult for smugglers to supply the Taliban with weapons and fuel. Mortar and rocket fire across the Kashmir Line of Control left one Indian and two Pakistani troops dead. Meanwhile, Indian and Pakistani combat units continued to build up along the border south of Kashmir. Units from two Pakistani divisions have been seen along the border, and at least one Indian division has been moved up as well.
