In Pakistan, pro-Taliban tribesmen have been attacking army convoys that are moving troops and supplies into the area. At least ten soldiers have died in these attacks, and dozens of trucks damaged or destroyed. The government is pitching it's offensive as an effort to stamp out lawlessness and terrorism, and this is supported by many of the tribal people. But some of the tribes are openly pro-Taliban. Since the army has shown up in strength, the leaders of the pro-Taliban tribes have reconsidered their positions. But there are still plenty of armed, pro-Taliban tribesmen running around in the hills.
