In the Malukus, police arrested 47 people suspected of separatist activity. Unlike Aceh and Irian Jaya, the separatist movement in the Malukus also has to deal with tensions between Christians and Moslems. Meanwhile, the government is sending 300 more air force commandoes to Aceh, where it has 3,000 troops (although Aceh rebels say there are actually 12,000 troops and police in the province.)
