 On Papua, a battalion of 900 troops searched the misty, 12,000 foot high mountains surrounding the site where two Americans died in an ambush. The police believe the killers belonged to a local chapter of the Free Papua Movement, led by Kelly Kwalik.  The more paranoid suspect that the army did it to make the rebels look bad. The police have arrested 15 local members of the Free Papua Movement.

In Aceh, two rebels were killed during an army sweep.
