 The European Union is threatening Iran with economic sanctions if Iran does not allow frequent inspections of its nuclear facilities. Iran insists it is not building nuclear weapons, but there are many indications that Iran's nuclear power program is being used for weapons work. The Islamic radicals, who have veto power over the government, are losing ground inside Iran by defending the nuclear weapons program, as most other Iranians do not want to pay a big economic price for supporting the building of those weapons.
