An opinion survey indicates that some 85 percent of Iranians want the country to continue it's nuclear energy program. This despite international attempts to  stop the program, because it's becoming apparent that Islamic conservatives are using the "peaceful nuclear energy" program as a cover for a nuclear weapons development program. 

Shirin Abadi Ebadi, a 56 year old Iranian woman lawyer and reformer, was awarded Nobel Peace Prize "for her efforts for democracy and human rights."  She was the first Moslem woman to ever get a Nobel prize, and the first Iranian. Back in Iran, reformist papers gave the event wide coverage, while media controlled by Islamic conservatives did not, or denounced
