Over the last week, the UN has worked out a deal whereby Iran promises not to develop nuclear weapons, while the UN says it will impose sanctions if Iran is caught trying to secretly develop nuclear weapons. The IAEA will continue to make inspection. This is a compromise, as the US insisted that Iran's Islamic conservatives would continue to develop nukes in secret, while Germany, France and Russia wanted the heat off Iran so they could continue to do business there.
