Saudi and American intelligence officials insist that Iran still harbors al Qaeda terrorists, providing numerous recent situations demonstrating this. Iran insists that it does not assist al Qaeda. 

May 22, 2005: The Guardian Council, run by clerics, and empowered by the constitution to veto any decisions by elected officials, has disqualified nearly all reform candidates for next months national elections. The Islamic conservatives have locked out the moderates, who represent the majority of Iranians, and forced moderates to either use violence, or remain subordinate to
