Fighting between the PKK and KPD continue, with several dozen dead in the last two months. The PKK is now attacking road construction teams, trying to derail the rebuilding efforts in Kurdish areas. Having been defeated by the Turkish army in Kurdish populated areas, the PKK is now trying to assert itself in Kurdish areas of northern Iraq.
