Iraq's armed forces aren't moving around much, mainly because so many trucks and armored vehicles are out of action due to poor maintenance or lack of parts. Three of the army's five corps are stationed south around the Kuwait-Saudi border, the other two are in the north near the independent Kurdish territories. The two Republican Guard corps are stationed north and south of Baghdad, while the Special Republican Guard division (which is about twice the size of a regular army division) is in Baghdad. Various commando and special police units are attached to the corps.
