The U.S. Department of Defense alerted 27,000 reservists to get ready for active duty. The troops could be called up within the next 30 days. 

U.S. and British warplanes bombed three Iraqi aid defense sites in southern Iraq after the Iraqis fired on the coalition aircraft. 

UN weapons inspectors increased their visits, hitting eleven sites today.
