Machine-gun fire and grenades came across the Lebanese border into Israel. In retaliation, Israel used gunships and artillery to hit targets in south Lebanon. Fighting between Palestinians and Israelis left none more dead today, bringing the death toll in the three week old conflict to at least 123 (the Palestinians claim several dozen more) and nearly 4,000 injured.
