The ceasefire appears to be slipping away, mainly because of the enormous popularity of the suicide bombing among the Palestinian population, and the continued bombing and shooting of Israelis. The Palestinian Authority knows that cracking down on the radicals and their suicide bombers would generate a lot of resistance. Israel insists that the Palestinian Authority does have the capability to suppress the radicals.
