Israel is considering a "worst case" plan if they are not able to stop the Palestinian attacks. This would be the construction of a fortified buffer zone between Israeli and Palestinian territory. This would have to include the abandonment of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory, as these locations are frequent targets of attacks.
