The war on terror continues, generally below the headlines. Israeli police continue to maintain their extensive informer network in the Palestinian territories, and Palestinian terrorists continue to hunt down and kill informants (although sometimes they kill people who are innocent of the charges). Israeli security forces continue to arrest terrorists, either at checkpoints, or during police raids into Palestinian territory. It is these operations that provide the proof that the Palestinian Authority is not doing all it could to crack down on terrorists. But the Palestinian Authority has to deal with the fact that many Palestinians support the terrorists, and the popular Palestinian goal of destroying Israel. So, as it has done for decades, the Palestinian leadership has to say one thing to Palestinians (Israel must be destroyed, terrorism is OK), and something else (we can live with Israel and terrorists are not nice) to everyone else (especially the West).
