Hamas is headed for civil war with other Palestinian factions, as Hamas vows to clear unauthorized weapons off the streets. Hamas leaders also publicly approve of continued terrorist attacks on Israel. Hamas itself has not been making any attacks because of the ceasefire.
April 2, 2006: Over the last two days, Israeli artillery, gunboats and aircraft have fired nearly 400 shells and missiles at terrorist rocket launching sites in Gaza. Palestinians continue to launch several Kassam rockets a day, but no more BM-21 rockets.
April 1, 2006: The Palestinian Authority in Gaza tried to ban the open display of weapons by unauthorized persons. This led to several gun battles that caused 40 casualties.
March 31, 2006: In Gaza, an Israeli car bomb went off and killed a terrorist leader. This triggered gun battles by Palestinian terrorists who attacked Palestinian security forces, believing that the security forces were working with the Israelis.
March 30, 2006: A Palestinian suicide bomber dressed as an orthodox Jew, killed three Jews in Israel.
