Fighting continues 150-200 kilometers north of the capital. The government claims success in pushing the LURD rebels out of towns, then someone from LURD gets on a cell phone and denies it. The area is too dangerous for most journalists, with gunmen from both sides too eager to do a little robbery and murder on the side if they encounter reporters.
