The Maoist rebels in Nepal are not communists in the classic sense, but are basically using the label. The main objective of the rebels is to eliminate the monarchy and reform the economy (which would include a certain amount of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.) The death of the former king, and the willingness of the new king to discuss the status of the monarchy and economic reforms has brought the rebels to the negotiating table. But it's not certain that anything will come from it.
