Several hundred Maoist rebels attacked an army base in the northwest, but were repulsed. Over a hundred rebels were killed, along with three soldiers. There were many more wounded. The high rebel casualties were largely result of their using kidnapped, and indoctrinated teenagers, for this kind of fighting.
