Political parties massed 10,000 supporters in the capital to protest the kings actions against elected officials. At least 80 protesters were arrested. While the kings actions are unpopular among urbanites, in the countryside, the kings campaign against corruption, and the depredations of the Maoists is popular. The urban population is seen as behind the corruption, and the Maoist movement. The leaders of the Maoists are generally from the same educated class as most of the politicians.
