November 1, 2005: The government says it will have destroyed the Maoist rebellion within three months. The Maoist unilateral truce ends in December, but that has not stopped them from kidnapping new members, and brainwashing them into becoming true believers.

October 30, 2005: The police, unlike the Maoists, have not agreed to any truce, and continue to kill and capture Maoist leaders and gunmen. The most common clash between the Maoists and police is when the cops catch the rebels trying to extort money from businesses and, increasingly, tourists.
