In the northeast, at least two dozen members of an armed Islamic group, Al Sunna wal Jamma, attacked two police stations, and killed four policemen and two civilians. Police and armed civilians went after the attackers, chasing them across the border into Cameroon. The Islamic group first showed up last December, when two hundred armed members went on a rampage. But police and the army broke up the group. But now the Al Sunna wal Jamma has returned, although in smaller numbers.
