President Arroyo has vowed to hunt down and catch the Abu Sayyaf kidnappers of 20 tourists. The government is offering $1.9 million in rewards for various Abu Sayyaf members involved in the kidnapping. The Abu Sayyaf admit they have the tourists and that two factions of the Abu Sayyaf have split the hostages between them. One faction is on Jolo and the other on nearby Basilan island. there will be no ransom. The Abu Sayyaf have not made any demands yet. But the usual drill with the Abu Sayyaf is to make political demands publicly while privately demanding hefty ransom payments.
