Largely unreported, the war involving rebel groups MILF and NPA continues in the rural villages, as the rebels try to intimidate the civilians into not providing information to the police. But the cops and military intelligence agents can provide rewards, often in the form of favors, for information about rebel activities. When the rebels find out, or suspect that someone is talking, they either threaten, or kill, the suspect.
