The army has pulled units out of parts of the southern Philippines that are used as base areas for the MILF. This is a good will gesture to mark the resumption of peace talks between the government and MILF. In return, the MILF allowed ceasefire monitors into remote areas that the army had not yet cleared of rebel camps.
