General Anatoly Kvashin, Chief of the Russian General Staff, says that there are 2,500 "guerrillas from Arab countries" in Azerbaijan and Georgia, waiting to enter Chechnya. Colonel-General Valery Manilov, First Deputy Chief of Staff, warns that 500 guerrillas have slipped back into Grozny and hope to rise up and recapture the city.--Stephen V Cole
