Rebels attacked Chechnya's Deputy Interior Minister Sultan Satuyev with a command detonated 122mm HE shell in Grozny, but were too slow, only injuring him and three accompanying policemen. 

A Russian special operations group in the Itum-Kale district intercepted two convoys carrying weapons, ammunition, explosives, medicines and narcotic drugs worth several thousand dollars. The convoys were coming from an unspecified country when the reconnaissance group landed from Mi-8 cargo helicopters and stopped them. - Adam Geibel
