Rebels attacked Chechnya's Deputy Interior Minister Sultan Satuyev with a command detonated 122mm HE shell in Grozny, but were too slow, only injuring him and three accompanying policemen. 

A Russian special operations group in the Itum-Kale district intercepted two convoys carrying weapons, ammunition, explosives, medicines and narcotic drugs worth several thousand dollars.
