Tajikistan agreed of allow Russia to maintain permanent military bases in their country, and to station more troops there (to help stop drugs from crossing into Tajikistan from Afghanistan). Russia will increase the number of troops stationed in Tajikistan to nearly 15,000 and provide $2.3 billion in aid over the next five years.
