Repeated attacks by armed elements from neighboring Burundi have stopped the returning flow Congolese refugees from Burundi, that had been underway. FNL rebels killed at least a dozen people in late August in Rusabagi, 85 km south of Bukavu in the Congo's South Kivu Province. The attackers used crude weapons (including garden hoes, machetes, knives and axes), proving once again that medieval weapons are still lethal in the 21st century. - Adam Geibel
