UN officials believe that Sudanese government officials are simply ignoring all the evidence of atrocities committed by government supported Arab militias in Darfur. This puts the UN and the Sudanese government on a collision course, as the UN calls for increasingly strong measures to deal with the violence in Darfur, and the government tells everyone that it's all a plot to overthrow the Arab dominated government of Sudan.
