The Coast Guard is reportedly on special alert for possible terrorist plans to seize a tanker loaded with gasoline or (even worse) liquefied natural gas and detonate it in a US port, but whether this is based on hard data or simply a worst case scenario is not known. US intelligence is convinced that about 100 al Qaeda sleeper agents remain undetected inside the United States.--Stephen V Cole
