mso-bidi-language: AR-SA"> The army began another major push against LTTE positions in the north. The government reported that at  least 39 rebels were killed and ten soldiers injured. The government is using tactics that limit their casualties as much as possible. The army morale is fragile and the generals feel that they need a strong of victories without losing a lot of men in order to restore morale.
