mso-bidi-language: AR-SA"> Rebel attacks in Jaffna continued, leaving four soldiers dead and 41 wounded. Rebels lost over 50 dead. The army lines have been holding, in contrast to the routes suffered during rebel attacks earlier in the year. Rebels sank a navy patrol boat in the north. Rebel artillery has been hitting populated areas, in an attempt to scatter the population before the October 10th elections. The rebels appear to be short of manpower, with many of their fighters apparently recently recruited teenagers.
