CHARLESTOWN NAVY YARD, Mass. (Aug. 15, 2008) USS Constitution's boarding pike team demonstrates an early 19th century drill Sailors and Marines used to repel enemies from boarding the ship during the USS Constitution vs. HMS Guerriere Battle Commemoration. More than 65 guests and military officials joined the captain and crew for this second annual observance of the battle. Constitution earned her nickname "Old Ironsides" Aug. 19, 1812, when 18-pound iron round shot from the British frigate bounced harmlessly off her oak hull. U.S. Navy photo by Seaman Brian M. Brooks
