First flight, this past Summer in Bavaria, of a newly built FW-190A. The original FW-190 flew in the Summer of 1939, and entered service in September, 1941. The Focke Wolfe aircraft were designed by Dr. Kurt Tank, and some 20,000 were built during World War II. The last in the series, the Ta-152 was considered one of the best fighters to see service in the war.
