A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, Task Force Chosin, keeps watch during security operations in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province, Dec. 3. The Soldier was part of a larger joint operation between Afghan National Security Forces and International Security Assistance Forces in Kunar's Ganjgal valley. The purpose of the operation was to bring peace and stability to Ganjgal by establishing a foothold for the ANSF and ISAF, through which they could bring the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the people of Ganjgal.
