PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 13, 2019) The amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) departs its homeport of Naval Base San Diego. America departed San Diego to join the forward-deployed naval forces in Sasebo, Japan, where it will serve as the flagship for Expeditionary Strike Group 7.
