Israel is putting the finishing touches on a $17.5 billion list of weapons it wants the US to provide in exchange for accepting a Golan Heights giveback and peace deal. The Israelis say that after any peace deal, they must be able to fight a two-front war that includes Egypt and Iran. The list includes attack helicopters, jet fighters, radar and electronics, reconnaissance systems of all types, and other things. The Israelis particularly insist that the US pay to put Israeli spy satellites into orbit, saying they refuse to rely on US goodwill in providing access to US satellites.--Stephen V Cole
