Hezbollah has been kidnapping south Lebanon villagers who happen to see Hezbollah guerillas planting bombs. Keeping these villagers prisoner, prevents the Israelis from obtaining information about who the Hezbollah operatives are and exactly how they operate. Israel has been working with the UN peacekeepers in the area to get the villagers released.
