Israel has said that it will continue with a controversial project to build eight AWACS planes for China despite strong US objections. Israel provides Phalcon radars for installation on Russian-built IL-76 transports. Israel said it would not transfer any US technology; critics have often charged that Israel has given China much US technology (and Israeli technology derived from US technology) while denying it has done so.--Stephen V Cole
