Two Israeli helicopter gunships ambushed a Palestinian paramilitary leader and killed him with four missiles. Palestinian ambushes and sniping have become more deadly, especially around Jewish settlements. Although the Israelis have used more firepower in fighting back at sniping and such, this approach often causes civilian casualties as machine-gun and missile fire is poured into the Palestinian villages the snipers usually fire from. So going after the Palestinian military leaders is a more popular approach. Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew into Lebanon and broke the sound barrier over populated areas.
