Israel closed off the Palestinian territories in response to yesterday's death of eight Israelis. These closures have been frequent and are doing so much damage to the Palestinian economy that foreign aid may be required to sustain basic food and medical needs. In Gaza, Palestinians again used a mortar to fire two shells at a Jewish settlement.
