Israel said it would fire on Syrian troops if there were further attacks by Hizbollah on Israeli troops or territory. There were recent rumors that Iran had supplied Hizbollah with longer range (up to 43 kilometers), truck mounted missiles. Syria is said to have veto power over Hizbollah use of these new weapons, which could hit targets deeper inside Israel. So far, most Hizbollah attacks have in and around the disputed Shebaa Farms area.
