The undeclared war between Israel and Palestinians is changing. Israeli anti-terrorism strategies have made it increasingly difficult for suicide bombers to operate within Israeli territory. Suicide bombers are more often caught before they can reach their targets, or even strap on their explosives. But at the same time. the Palestinian attacks against Jewish settlements in Palestinian territory are killing more more settlers. Meanwhile, the continuing violence, especially the Israeli attacks on the leaders of Palestinian terrorist organizations, is making the Palestinian population more enthusiastic about continued violence. Yasser Arafat is losing popular support while radical groups are gaining. There are no indications that the situation is going to calm down any time soon.
