Israel: March 26, 2002

Two Norwegian members of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH) group were killed in an ambush on a road used by Israeli settlers in Palestinian territory. Palestinians are suspected, but they blamed it on the Israelis. The Norwegians were in a clearly marked TIPH vehicle. TIPH is an attempt to use international observers to reduce violence.
