: 10.0pt"> In Beirut, Lebanon, a car bomb killed Jihad Jibril, son of the leader of  the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC). This organization later admitted that the dead man has involved in trying to smuggle weapons to Palestinians in Israel. The PFLP-GC blames Israel for this bombing, but Israel denies involvement. Israel did reveal that a Palestinian plot to detonate a one ton bomb outside two 50 story towers in Tel Aviv was aborted by the police three weeks ago.
