Total deaths in 28 months of violence has hit 3100, with 23 percent being Israeli. Palestinian leaders are trying to work out a peace deal with Israel and the terrorist organizations. The problem is that the terrorists (like Hamas, and half a dozen smaller groups) are largely uncompromising. They will settle for nothing less than the destruction of Israel and expulsion of Jews from the Middle East. But Palestinians, as a group, are unwilling to stop the terrorist operations by force and Israel is unwilling to stop trying to prevent the terrorist attacks anyway it can.
