 A Palestinian man dressed as a religious Jew boarded a bus in Jerusalem and detonated a bomb that killed twenty and wounded over a hundred. The bus was full of women and children. Hamas and Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the bombing and said it was revenge for the earlier killing of an Islamic Jihad member and two Hamas men. Israel immediately froze all moves in and out of Palestinian territory and suspended plans to withdraw from more Palestinian towns.
