Israel: December 1, 2003

The new Palestinian government tries to work out deals with Palestinian terrorist organizations, while Israel continues building its security wall and going after terrorist infrastructure in Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, an unofficial peace deal, with nearly identical terms to those agreed on three years ago, is becoming more popular.

Over sixty armored vehicles and jeeps led a raid into the West Bank town of Ramallah, where an explosives lad was seized and destroyed at a local Hamas leader arrested. Several dozen other Palestinians were arrested.  The Ramallah Hamas operation is thought to have been responsible for suicide bomb attacks that have killed at least 60 Israelis.
