Fearing widespread, and perhaps violent, resistance to Israel's shutting down of Israeli settlements in Gaza, the government is going to disarm many settlers and increase security around Israeli leaders. The settlers represent a large minority of Israeli voters, and in that group there are fanatics capable of violence. Israeli intelligence believes that the Israeli radicals are planning terror attacks against Palestinians, in order to trigger more Palestinian terrorism. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority is having problems with Palestinian radicals, most of whom are demanding jobs and immunity from Israeli arrest and prosecution. The Israelis have promised to find, arrest and prosecute those Palestinian terrorists who have blood on their hands (participated in an attack that killed Israelis.)
